Shaping Superpowers

Shaping Superpowers is one of our core values. Our unique mix of people shapes the business we are, and so in this series of Thought pieces, we want to celebrate our people, and give you an insight into the individual talents you’ll find at Design Activity.

Today we’re talking pottery, phobias and enjoying every minute of life with Account Executive Nicole.

Why did you decide to do the work you are doing now?

I’ve always had the drive to do something creative, but it’s been a bit of a journey to find out exactly what.

I started with Performing Arts school, then did Events Management at university, but once I started working I realised that collaborating more closely with brands and being able to help them connect better with their audiences was where I wanted to be – and so here I am!

If you won the lottery, what would be the first thing you do?

I’ve always said that if I won the lottery I would buy my mum the little cottage by the sea that she’s always wanted – so that would definitely be the first thing I did.

Do you have any phobias?

I’m actually pretty good with all your traditional phobias – I don’t mind spiders or heights or the dark.

But I am definitely not a fan of snakes. A Bush Tucker trial with snakes would be a definite ‘no’ from me – even if it meant the camp went hungry!

If you didn’t have to sleep, what would you do with the extra time?

I got into Pottery during lockdown, trying to keep myself entertained when life outside of home stopped. And now that life is back on track, I find it incredibly therapeutic. There’s obviously not as much free time to do it now, but I really want to learn more techniques, and have signed up to a Pottery course in the new year.

What is your motto in life?

‘Enjoy your life’. I might sound clichéd, but my friends and I were watching an Egyptian Lover DJ set at a festival recently and he just kept repeating ‘enjoy your life’.

We all made a pact there and then to live like this.
